The victim’s family and the accused are labourers from Chattarpur area of Madhya Pradesh.
Superintendent of Jhunjhunu Police, Surrender Gupta said, the accused has been arrested from Haryana in the case and has confessed to the crime he committed on Wednesday.
Gupta said the victim’s father, a resident under Seetsar police station limits of Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan (Chattarpur), lodged a complaint of his daughter who was missing since Tuesday afternoon. He stated that the child was last seen at 2pm by his elder daughter.
The victim’s family and the accused are labourers from Chattarpur area of Madhya Pradesh.
Gupta said following the complaint, all nearby exists were barricaded and a team was sent to trace the minor. The body was recovered from a pit near Jhunjhunu air strip. A medical board was constituted and post mortem was conducted.
During the probe it was found that the last time the victim was seen with her brother-in-law, who bought her chips and cold drink, which were also recovered near the pit. A police team was sent to Luharu of Haryana, from where he was arrested. “The accused has confessed to the crime,” claimed Gupta.
