Man gets life term for raping minor daughter

A man was sentenced to life imprisonment till death on Saturday for raping his minor daughter at Kaithoon town in Kota district. Setting an example of quick justice, a Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) court in Kota convicted 40-year-old Girish Kumar Aggarwal within 15 days of filing of a charge sheet by police.

Setting an example of quick justice, a Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) court in Kota convicted 40-year-old Girish Kumar Aggarwal within 15 days of filing of a charge sheet by police.

After Aggarwal raped his 13-year-old daughter in May, the girl’s mother filed a complaint with the Kota city SP. Aggarwal was arrested on June 4, and police presented the charge sheet in the case on July 5.

The special public prosecutor of Pocso court, Kamal Kant Sharma, said the accused father was convicted for rape under section 376 of IPC and Pocso Act. He was handed life imprisonment till death and a fine of ₹50,000.

Sharma said the judgment was pronounced in 14 working days from the date of filing of the charge sheet.
