A 22-year-old man was arrested on Monday for raping a seven year old girl in Dholpur district.

Police arrested him for raping the minor girl from village Jhade Ka Pura, under police station Maniya, after the victim was examined by a medical board in Dholpur that confirmed rape.
The incident took place on Sunday evening when the girl was playing outside her house. Her neighbour, 22-year-old Hem Singh Kushwaha took her to a nearby field and allegedly raped her.
The victim’s mother said that the family began looking for the girl after she was found missing and they found her lying bleeding and unconscious in a nearby agricultural field. The accused had already fled the spot.
They took her to the Community Health Centre at Maniya late at night where she is undergoing treatment. The mother blamed Hem Singh Kushwaha for the rape.
Station house officer of Maniya police, Man Singh said that Kushwaha has been arrested under section 376 of IPC and the POCSO act after the victim's father registered complaint against him.
Kushwaha was also arrested last year under sections 380 (theft) and 457 (lurking house-trespass) of IPC, police said.
Child Welfare Committee's chairman Vijendra Singh Parmar said that victim will be taken for counselling and demanded strict legal action against the accused.
As per police data, 56 rape cases were reported in Dholpur in 2015 which increased to 75 in 2016.
