"Tough steps will soon be taken against dishonest traders and middlemen involved in the supply of essential commodities in the local market. Nobody will be spared if found guilty," state chief secretary Asok Mohan Chakrabarti said.

A high-level meeting will be convene on Monday with senior officials of the Enforcement Branch and Food departments to plan a drive against hoarding of all essential commodities and initiate strong measures against those involved in it, he said.
