No victory or defeat : CPI(M) on Ayodhya verdict

A senior CPI(M) leader in West Bengal on Thursday said the verdict of the Allahabad High Court in the Ayodhya title case should not been as a victory or defeat and it was only a legal process.

Calling upon the people to maintain calm and peace, party state secretariat member Mohammad Selim said people should not fall a prey to any provocation.

"There should not be any rumour," he told reporters.

Meanwhile, BJP asked people to come together to pave the way for the construction of a temple and mosque at the site.

"Let us all together build temple and mosque, state BJP president Rahul Sinha said.

The issue should not be kept alive by making an appeal against the verdict to the higher court, he said.
