A 15-year-old rape victim, student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Unnao district, died on Friday morning at her residence.

The girl was raped in the school premises several times by a teacher. She became pregnant following which she was forced to take an abortion pill. This worsened her condition and she was admitted to CSMMU in critical condition.

Cops from the Fatehpur Chaurasi police station (Unnao) took the statement of the victim at CSMMU and arrested the teacher Hari Narayan and the school cook Anuradha, who used to take the girl to the teacher's room after school hours.

The family used to bring the girl for follow up examination and treatment to Lucknow.

Eventually one night when her condition got serious, she informed her family members. But she collapsed and died before her family could take her to Lucknow for teatment. The body has been sent for post mortem examination.

Innitially when the family members came to know about her illness and took her to CSMMU for checkup, they had considered it to be a regular infection. But the matter of atrocity upon the girl was revealed when doctors at CSMMU on May 18 confirmed that her illness was due to rape and pregnancy at young age.

Getting to know about what had happened with his daughter the father lodged an FIR with the Fatehpur Chaurasi (Unnao) police stating his daughter was raped and she became pregnant.
