Former UP minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya on Tuesday gave his consent to the CBI Special court for his polygraph test in connection with the murder case of Kunda police circle officer (CO) Zia-ul-Haque.

CBI special magistrate Mirza Zeenat reserved her order for Wednesday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had earlier moved an application before the court that it wanted a polygraph test on the former Uttar Pradesh minister as he himself had consented for the same before the CBI.

Sources said when the court asked the investigating agency as to what was the status of Raja Bhaiya in the murder case, CBI's investigating officer informed it that he was just a 'suspect'

Raja Bhaiyya, after coming out from the court, told media persons that he was not involved in the crime and he consented for the test to prove that he was innocent.

"I have neither changed my statement nor am I worried about anything. If CBI feels that its neessary, then I have given my consent," he told reporters.

The former minister said the truth should come to fore.

Although CBI does not have any evidence which directly links Raja Bhaiya with the murder of the DSP, it wants to get a clear picture of his role, if any, in the case, CBI sources said.

The sources said findings of the test would not constitute evidence in the case, but it would give inputs which can be developed after thorough probe.

The agency has already grilled Raja Bhaiya on May 15 and 16 in connection with the murder case.

Haq was shot dead on March 2 in Balipur village in Kunda area of Pratapgarh district where he had gone to probe murder of village head Nanhe Yadav.

Haq's wife Parveen Azad had accused Raja Bhaiya of conspiracy after which he had to resign from the Cabinet on March 4.
