For transparency in appointments at UP govt-aided schools, details of vacancies set to go online
UPSESSB has already prepared the software for the task and has started training of officials of schools in districts
To check foul play in the appointment of teachers and principals at secondary schools, the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board (UPSESSB) will now accept details of vacant posts through online mode only.
The decision will be applicable on about 4,500 government-aided schools in the state.
UPSESSB has already prepared the software for the task and has launched the exercise to train school officials.
Earlier, many schools did not report all vacant posts to UPSESSB and recruited teachers on part-time basis at their own level. Many schools allegedly got these part-time teachers regularized by taking commissions from them.
Some school managers reported vacancies to UPSESSB but appointed individuals of their choice. Later, when duly qualified candidates selected by UPSESSB used to approach schools to posting, he/she was not allowed to join. After running from pillar to post, the candidates had no option but to move the court.
After coming to know of the anomalies, the Board finally decided to make the entire process online. The Board will now have access to information not only of existing vacancies but also of every post in an institution and the exact date when it will fall vacant.
The board kicked off the mission from Fatehpur where it began a software training session for managers and principals. A team led by deputy secretary Naval Kishore is leading the session.
