At a press conference held on Wednesday, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation’s (LMRC) rolling staff director Mahendra Kumar said the trial run of the Metro, which was supposed to start by September 2016, would not be initiated before December of next year. Thereafter, a six month trial would be held before opening the service for people.

Problems have started to surface in the chief minister’s dream project. Some time back, work on the Metro got delayed due to hindered supply of raw material.

The LMRC would open the tender for finishing work of metro stations on Thursday. Naveen Babu, official in-charge at LMRC, said the finishing and construction would go hand-in-hand. As soon as the work of the station gets done, the finishing work for all eight stations from Transport Nagar to Charbagh would be done.
