Mayawati reshuffles Cabinet

The chief minister reshuffles portfolios of her council of ministers shedding the load of three departments, gaining one, reports Umesh Raghuvanshi.

Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday reshuffled portfolios of her council of ministers shedding the load of three departments, gaining one. Besides Mayawati who now has been left with 41 departments the reshuffle has also affected four other ministers as well.

Chief minister has taken out agriculture foreign trade, agriculture exports and Khadi and Village Industries departments and added Women Welfare to her own portfolio. Mayawati has taken out Women Welfare from the portfolio of Indrajeet Saroj who has been now given additional charge of SC/ST Welfare, Agriculture Foreign Trade and Agriculture Export portfolios.

The Minister of State (Independent Charge) Omvati has been deprived of Technical Education and gets charge of Khadi and Village Industry departments. The SC/ST Welfare has been taken away from Minister of State (Independent Charge) Sadal who now gets charge of Technical Education department. The Minister of State for Khadi and Village Industries Sangram Singh now becomes Minister of State for Textiles and Sericulture.

    A 43-year-old domestic help at a south Delhi farmhouse attempted suicide, saying she was humiliated by her employer who stripped and thrashed her before locking her up in a room without clothes after an occultist brought by the family concluded that she stole valuables from the villa nearly 10 months ago, police said on Monday. Police said her employer brought her to the hospital after her condition deteriorated, which informed the police.

    Property dealer shot dead in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar

    A 40-year-old property dealer was shot dead by unknown two-wheeler-borne miscreants on Sunday evening in southeast Delhi's Jamia Nagar area, police said. Police said the Jamia Nagar police station received a call from Holy Hospital on Sunday evening, informing them that one a property dealer from Jamia Nagar, Mohammad Waseef Sattar Ghazi, had been brought to the hospital with bullet injuries by locals.

    Yogi Adityanath targets 10 lakh cr investment at global summit for ‘naya UP’

    Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has attracted investment of Rs 4 lakh crore and is eyeing another Rs 10 lakh crore investment at the global investors' summit, proposed to be held in UP in January-February 2023. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for converting the 75 years celebration of India's independence into a “rashtriya utsav (national festival)”.
