Three locations shortlisted for grand Ram statue in Ayodhya
The architect hired by the Yogi Adityanath government for the project inspected the locations in Ayodhya on Saturday.
Three locations have been shortlisted for the installation of a grand statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, people familiar with the matter said.

The shortlisted locations are behind the international Ram Katha Park, they added.

A 36-metre pedestal will also come up at the project site on which the 108-metre high statue of Lord Ram will be installed.
Earlier, the statue was to be installed on the banks of the Saryu. But the idea was dropped due to conservation issues.
Rajkiya Nirman Nigam general BK Singh, along with other officials, were also present during the inspection by the architect.
It was before Deepotsav in Ayodhya on Diwali eve last year that the state government had decided to install the statue of Ram in Ayodhya, his birthplace.
Kamal Ahmad, assistant chakbandi (consolidation) officer, Faizabad, said revenue records related with the spots shortlisted for the project were being scrutinised.
Thereafter, a report will be sent to the state government, he added.
The government wants public participation in the project, people familiar with the matter said.
