The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested Tinku Singh, close aid of jailed BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, in the Unnao rape and murder case. This is the 11th arrest in the case.
Sengar and others face charges gangraping a girl and later murdering her father.
According to a senior CBI official, the central agency interrogated Tinku at its office in Lucknow on Tuesday and thereafter arrested him on charges of murdering the rape victim’s father.
To recall, it was Tinku who had lodged an FIR against the rape victim’s father at the Makhi police station, Bangarmau. The victim’s father died on April 9 at the district hospital of Unnao, where he was undergoing treatment while in judicial custody. He had 14 injury marks on his body, which resulted in death, revealed the post-mortem examination report.
He was allegedly brutally thrashed by Atul Singh and others, and then taken to the Makhi police station on April 3. The cops got his medical examination done but instead of admitting him to the hospital, they sent him to jail the same day. For the next five days, he languished in the prison. It was only on April 8 evening, when he complained of severe stomach ache and vomiting that he was taken to hospital.
