Condoms on call: An SMS can save you from having that baby
Condoms are now a call away. You can also order condoms, emergency contraceptives pills, lubes and pregnancy test kits, from the comfort of your home.
If you are still shy of buying a condom or if you just remembered that you needed lube, here’s help at hand. Here are two initiatives helping people avoid being embarrassed and practising safety in their intimate moments.
Now you don’t need to think twice before buying a condom or a contraceptive, thanks to the young entrepreneur Sirhaan Seth. The eighteen-year-old has started an SMS Contraceptive venture where one can order condoms, emergency contraceptives pills, lubes and pregnancy tests through Snapchats, WhatsApp or text message.
“I feel that sex is still seen as a taboo in our society. People face lot of embarrassment while buying condoms from chemists. My friends and I have personally faced this awkwardness. When a girl asks for any contraceptive, the pharmacist deliberately speaks louder than usual asking: Kya chaiye, zor se bolo. I wanted to do something about it and hence came up with this service. People can message us their address and contraceptives are delivered to their doors,” says Seth, founder of the SMS Contraceptive.
His venture came into existence two weeks ago. It comprises an eight member team that confidentially takes orders and delivers the contraceptives required.
“We have instructed our delivery boys to call up the individual who has placed the order and inform about their location rather than reaching the address and ringing the doorbell,” says Seth.
A business management student at a university in Sonipat, this resident of Gurgaon currently caters to Millennium City and plans to expand his venture in the National Capital Region too. “We are still to get a drug license to expand our services. Currently we have Memorandum of Understanding with a chemist shops and we are a registered service,” says Seth.
Batman delivers
Not just contraceptives, Batman Delivers is a convenient way to order food, cigarettes, beverages in Gurgaon and South Delhi between 9 PM and 5 AM. Started in 2013 to provide services such as food, beverages, essentials, desserts, party supplies, OTC drugs and contraceptive during midnight.
Batman delivers is the first online service that during night hours. They also offer a unique service of “You name it and we will arrange it”, which costs extra money. Products are delivered at market prices with delivery charge. Cash on Delivery facility is available.
