According to the police, the victim, who has been identified as Azharuddin Talib Khan, 31, was a resident of Govandi. Officials said that the incident took place between 10:35am and 11am near Shanti Café on Dr BA Road, when Khan was heading to his office in Mahalaxmi on his motorcycle.

“Khan was trying to overtake a BEST bus travelling from Sion to Ballard Pier. While he was overtaking, he lost balance of his bike. The motorcycle skid and Khan slipped and fell before getting crushed under the rear wheel of the bus,” said an officer from the Bhoiwada police station.

He was taken to KEM Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at around 11:30am on Saturday.
