Drunken brawl: Man kills friend in south Mumbai

Both men were on their way home from a bar

A plumber smashed his friend’s head with a boulder, killing him, after a heated argument on Sunday night. Thakur Dayal Rajbhar and the accused, Ajay Kumar Rajbhar, were on their way home from a bar in south Mumbai’s Dockyard Road.

“The incident took place around 8pm, after the two men, both plumbers, consumed alcohol in a bar at Dockyard Road. They started heading home, when Thakur and Ajay got into a heated argument. Ajay smashed Thakur’s head with a stone,” said an officer from the Byculla police station.

The police said both men were from Azamgarh and worked as plumbers.

Ajay tried to flee, but an alert security guard at the nearby Chetna Compound in Mazgaon caught him and handed him over to the police.
