Mumbai police registered a case against two men for allegedly leaking episode 64 of popular television series Game of Thrones last week. No arrests have been made yet.

Police said they were acting on a complaint by a private company, for which the men work.

The firm owns the airing rights to the show, the seventh season of which is ongoing.A police officer from the Mumbai crime branch’s cyber cell confirmed that a case had been filed, but declined to divulge further details.

He said police were in the process of verifying the allegations made against the accused and collecting evidence against them.

The channel came under fire after the low-quality leaked episode was found to be bearing its watermark.

Soon after, the firm initiated an internal inquiry and said it had found two of its employees guilty of the crime.

The company gave the MIDC police station in Andheri (East) a written complaint and also approached the cyber cell last week.

A case was filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act for criminal breach of trust and computer-related offences.
