Glitch halts Thane-Vashi trains for 45 minutes

Services resumed around 7.30am. Trains on the corridor were running 15-20 minutes late before the morning rush hour.

Suburban services on the Thane-Vashi corridor were stopped for about 45 minutes at Nerul at 6.40am, due to technical problems with a train’s pantograph, which draws power from overhead wires, said the government police control room. Services resumed around 7.30am. Trains on the corridor were running 15-20 minutes late before the morning rush hour.

Suburban services on the western line, main and harbour line of the Central Railway were running five to15 minutes late due to the heavy rain, said the BMC disaster control room.

According to the control room, the island city recorded 65 mm rain at Colaba and 110 mm rain in suburbs at Santacruz in the last 24 hours up till 8.30am. Waterlogging was reported in some low-laying areas in Mumbai.
