A 24-year-old man who allegedly snatched a woman’s bag on April 26 was arrested on Monday.

Kherwadi police said the accused, Jaffer Mohammad Ali Shaikh, was riding pillion at the time of the incident. His accomplice sped up, approached the 25-year-old from behind and snatched her bag around 9.30 pm in Bandra. The woman said her bag contained important documents, her mobile phone and cash.

The police are trying to recover these valuables. Shaikh was produced before a magistrate court and remanded in police custody till May 24.

The Goregaon police had earlier arrested Shaikh in connection with a chain snatching case.
