Mumbai salesman held for stealing medicines, cosmetics worth Rs30 lakh
The 49-year-old accused, Vinod Jain, was employed at Mahendra Jain’s Milan Chemist shop at JP Road in Andheri West for over 2 years.
The DN Nagar police on Monday arrested an employee of a pharmacy for stealing medicines and cosmetics worth Rs30 lakh from the store.

The 49-year-old accused, Vinod Jain, was employed at Mahendra Jain’s Milan Chemist shop at JP Road in Andheri West for over 2 years. According to Mahendra, Vinod stole from consignments before delivering to the shop, between November 2012 and March 2014. Mahendra shut his shop in 2014 after suffering huge losses. Vinod joined another medical store in Santacruz that year, where the owner allegedly caught him stealing and informed Mahendra. Upon questioning , Vinod confessed he had stolen from Mahendra’s shop, said the police. “He kept telling me he will repay the amount,” Mahendra told HT.
However, Vinod went off the grid. Mahendra nabbed him when he was in Goregaon to attend his mothers’ last rites. “Mahendra filed a complaint on Monday. Vinod has been remanded to two days’ police custody,” said senior inspector P Ganame.
