Romanian arrested for installing skimming device at Mumbai ATM
Police say he was part of a four-member gang. A second gang member, also a Romanian, was caught at the Dubai airport and deported to Mumbai.
The Dahisar police on Tuesday arrested a Romanian national for installing a skimming device at an ATM in Dahisar. Investigations have revealed that he was part of a four-member gang, wherein each was assigned a target location.

The accused arrested arrived in Dahisar on January 24 from Delhi. The accused possessed multiple visas for India, said the police.
After visiting various locations in Mumbai, the accused made a list of ATM kiosks with lax security. Following this, the accused installed a skimming device at the Dahisar ATM in Ambavadi.
The bank authorities noticed the accused tampering with the machine over the CCTV cameras and alerted the police.
The police arrested the accused later in the evening, when he returned to collect the skimming device.
The accused is currently being interrogated by the police. He claims that he does not understand English. However, the police believe that this is merely a tactic to avoid the questioning.
The police are trying to trace how the device arrived in the city.
A second gang member, also a Romanian national, who was flying to Paris from Mumbai via Dubai, was caught by the immigration authorities at the Dubai airport and deported to Mumbai. Interrogations are underway to locate the other two gang members.
