The accused – Javed, alias Java Noor Ahmed Shaikh, and Mohammed Aslam, alias Sheru Mohammed Hanif Shaikh – were also fined Rs20,000 each by judge PP Jadhav.

According to the police, the accused had asked Mehmood Khan in 2014 to let out his shanty at Shildaighar as they wanted to use it for selling charas and ganja. But, Khan refused.

After a heated argument, the accused attacked Khan and killed him. “Khan had refused to let out his shanty to them. Khan was dragged out of his house and attacked by the accused with a sharp weapon,” said a police officer from the Thane commissionerate.
