A new video was released on Thursday, slamming the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and supporting RJ Malishka Mendonsa whose video titled ‘Mumbai tula BMC var bharosa nahi kay’ was shared widely on social media.
The new video, sung like a rap, features a couple of radio jockeys in a raft on a flooded Mumbai street, throwing questions at the viewer. “Tujhe RJ pe bharosa nahi kya? / Sadke ye saari teri broke broke / galiyon ki naaliyan bhi choke choke” (Don’t you trust the RJ? / All your roads are broken / All your sewer lines have choked). The video has garnered 851k views.
The 1 minute 40 second video by Red FM blames the flooding of roads and choking of sewer lines on the BMC, accusing the corporation of not doing their work.
After Mendonsa released ‘Mumbai tula BMC var bharosa nahi kay’ on July 10, the Shiv Sena, which runs the BMC along with ally BJP, responded by urging the corporation to sue her for defaming the civic body.
Two Yuva Sena leaders — Amey Ghole, also a corporator, and Samadhan Sarvankar, who is Sena legislator Sada Sarvankar’s son — said the radio channel and its radio host, Mendonsa, were unfairly blaming the BMC for problems that are not under its jurisdiction.
“The song did not name the Shiv Sena directly, but it hurts us that Mumbai’s and the BMC’s image is unnecessarily taking a hit,” said Sarvankar.
Mendonsa tweeted on Thursday that she is ready with six more songs.

She also thanked people who supported her, “Just wanna thank you for all your support. You guys are awesome Mumbai you are the best. Mala tujhyavar bharosa aahe (sic).”
