He took them to task over poor coordination, the absence of a policy to prevent malnutrition and the failure to get doctors in health centres. Fadnavis on Wednesday held a meeting with officials from the women and child development, public health and tribal development departments and collectors of tribal districts. The meeting comes as several reports surfaced on the rise in deaths and ailments of children from tribal districts, particularly from Palghar. Women and child development minister Pankaja Munde was not at the meeting, but her deputy Vidya Thakur attended. When officials tried to pass the buck, the CM said there was poor coordination. The districts have now been asked to chalk out a nutrition policy in 15 days.
