MUMBAI: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued 28 people trapped on rooftops at Valsad in Gujarat due to rising Auranga river. The Indian Coast Guard Air station Daman received information around 10am from district administration office and within 15 minutes two ICG Chetak helicopters were launched, said ICG official. The location was around 175 kms from Mumbai. “Two helicopters took several rounds and rescued the people. It took around six to seven hours,” said chief public relations officer, Commander Rahul Sinha.
