MUMBAI: Eco friendly e-rickshaws are finally set to ply on Maharashtra roads. Ignoring opposition from auto rickshaw unions, the state government announced the new policy for these battery operated vehicles allowing them to register in six districts across the state — Latur, Amaravati, Buldhana, Nagpur, Vardha and Akola.Due to concerns about traffic snarls, these vehicles may not be allowed to ply on Mumbai Metropolitan Region roads.
