MUMBAI: The registration of the ruling BJP with the Maharashtra state election commission (SEC) may get cancelled for failing to submit documents such as income tax. The election commission on Monday sent notices to eight political parties, including state BJP, for not submitting documents. The party will be deprived of its symbol, lotus, and will also not get party symbol of its choice during the coming municipal corporation polls if its registration gets cancelled. The SEC has asked the parties to submit the documents by Sept 9.
