MUMBAI: IAS officer V Radha was appointed as the new excise commissioner on Monday. During his tenure as the joint managing director of City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Radhe played a crucial role in putting the Navi Mumbai international airport back on track.

He is among the 30 IAS officers who were reshuffled by the state on Monday.

While joint commissioner (sales tax) Prajakta Lavangare Verma will replace Radha in CIDCO, former excise chief Vijay Singhal has been made the development commissioner (industries). Chief Electoral Officer Nitin Gadre has been posted as the principal secretary of the general administration department. Among others, Shyam Tagde will be the principal secretary (minority development) and JP Gupta is the new divisional commissioner for Amravati.
