1 killed in van-rickshaw collision in Badlapur
A speeding pick-up van collided with an autorickshaw leaving one person dead and seven others seriously injured on Sunday.
A speeding pick-up van collided with an autorickshaw leaving one person dead and seven others seriously injured on Sunday.

The accident took place on Badlapur-Karjat road near Goregaon village, Wangani.
Police inspector Pratap Mankar from the Badlapur Gramin police station said, “The incident took place around 11.15am. The driver lost control of the Mahindra and collided with a rickshaw coming from the other side. Eight persons were seated in the rickshaw.”
The diver of the van, Shanker Shivaji Shitole, 21, has been arrested, Mankar added.
Those travelling in the rickshaw have been identified as Reshma Sawant, 37, Asha Nichite, 32, Ashok Kalgutkar, 30, Udaykumar Chipkar, 44, Hemant Nichite, 11, Ranjana Ughada, 24, Junaid Bubure, (rickshaw driver), 22, and Shanvari Shid, 30.
Ramdas Sawant, 45, a resident of Tardeo, died on the spot, the police said.
