The men were arrested on Sunday and released on bail the same day, the police said. Most of the arrested were MNS vibhag pramukhs and shakha pramukhs.

The activists had protested outside several cinema halls for not screening Marathi films. Senior Inspector Anant Kenjale said: “The arrested men include Vibhag Pramukh Vinod Pawar and Shakha Pramukh Hemant Kamble.” The police will check the CCTV footage to identify more activists involved.
