The police said the incident occurred when Raju Chaudhary, 22, a shopkeeper, was asleep at his residence.

The two accused, as Santosh and Sunil, are from Uttar Pradesh and worked at Raju’s shop. They tied Raju’s hands and legs and strangulated him. They headed to the room where Raju’s aunt Hola Devi, 34, was sleeping with her three children, said the police.

“One of them tried to strangulate Hola. She managed to free herself and ran after the two men who escaped,” said Narayan Ugale, police inspector. The police will send a team to Uttar Pradesh to trace the duo.
