2 students die as BIKE collides with state bus

Two students were killed in an accident near Lonavla when the motorcycle they were riding had a head-on collision with a state transport bus on Wednesday.

Two students were killed in an accident near Lonavla when the motorcycle they were riding had a head-on collision with a state transport bus on Wednesday.

The Lonavla police identified the duo as Raunak Nambiyar, 23 from Borivali and Devrath Kallar, 23, a resident of Yerawada, Pune, who studied at a management school in Khandala.

Vishnu Pawar, senior inspector with the Lonavla city police station, said that the duo was on its way to the college to appear for an exam. The bike they were riding rammed into a state transport bus that was coming from the opposite direction near Walwand village on the old Mumbai-Pune highway around 9.30am.

The police did not find a helmet at the scene of the accident and that the two died on the spot.
