A 26-year-old housewife allegedly committed suicide at her Malad (East) residence on Friday morning. The police are still clueless about the motive.

Varsha Bawalia (26), lived with her husband and a two-year-old daughter in a joint family in a six-storey building at Raheja Township.

The Dindoshi police said the residents discovered the body at around 9.15 am on Friday. “Bawalia was found lying in a pool of blood in the building premises. She may have fallen (or jumped) from the terrace,” said Senior Inspector Vinayak Kakade. No suicide note was found on her.

Bawalia’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law were at home when the incident took place, while her husband and father-in-law had gone out for work.

The police are still investigating the motive behind the suicide.

"The family members said she was happy and did not have any complaints," said an officer.
