Seven accused have been arrested while three are absconding.

“On September 13, a tempo on its way to Nashik was forcibly stopped by 10 unknown people who had blocked the road. They beat up the driver Balu Hulluke, 31, and snatched his mobile phone as well as Rs 10,000 in cash from his pocket. They then tied him up and escaped with the electronics worth Rs 7.8 lakh,” said Fatesingh Patil, inspector, Thane rural police.

The officer said four teams had been working on the case for the past three months and had been tracking the robbers’ mobile phones. Most of the accused have criminal records.
