Actress lodges complaint against producer

Actor Ritu Sachdev lodged a complaint with the Versova police on Sunday against a Hyderabad-based producer for allegedly threatening and harassing her.

Actor Ritu Sachdev lodged a complaint with the Versova police on Sunday against a Hyderabad-based producer for allegedly threatening and harassing her.

In her statement to the police Sachdev said that she was introduced to producer P.S. Prasanna by a friend. He agreed to sign her in two of his movies.

However, on making enquiries, she learnt that the producer had given her friend wrong information about himself and his projects.

Sachdev therefore refused to work in Prasanna’s movies.

Sachdev, who has starred in various music videos and South India films, alleged that Prasanna then started calling her and tried to convince. But when she did not budge, he began to harass her by calling her from different numbers.

She also claimed that the producer threatened her with dire consequences if she did not give in to his demands and accepted to work in his movies.

A police officer from Versova, requesting anonymity, said, “We have registered a non-cognisable complaint and are investigating the matter.”
