Senior BJP leader L K Advani slammed Pakistan, claiming that terror groups were receiving sustainance from the neighbouring country. The octogeneraian leader also castigated the UPA government claiming that it was the government’s policy failure which is responsible for occurance of terror attacks in the country.
“I can only say that even if it is Indian Mujahideen (who conducted the blasts) even they get sustainance from Pakistan,” Advani told reporters after his visit to the sites of the blasts in Mumbai.
Advani also demanded that there was a need to declare the ISI a terrorist organization. He further claimed that the terror attacks in India were a proxy war waged by Pakistan and the government needed to have zero tolerance towards terrorism.
Advani also trained his guns on the state government claiming that it was the government’s policy failure rather then intelligence failure that led to such incidents.
“We should have a zero tolerance policy against terror. Under no circumstances should we tolerate, condone or disregard any terror activity,” Advani said.
He also maintained that no purpose would be served by engaging in a dialogue with Pakistan until the terror infrastructure was dismantled.
“This should be a basic premise of our relationship with Pak - that it will have to dismantle the infrastructure that it has created for terror," he said.
Foreign minister level talks with Pakistan are expected to take place by the end of this month.
Interestingly, under Advani’s term as home minister there were Two Indo-Pak summits with leaders from both the countries visiting each other.
