Auto driver panics over fake weapons

A panicked Chaurasia, 30, rushed to the Andheri police station with the rifles, only to find out they were fakes.

“Chaurasia had parked his autorickshaw near Saraswati Tower in Andheri East,” said S Deshmukh, senior inspector, Andheri police station. “He found a black gunny bag with three rifles kept near the vehicle. Assuming they were real, he rushed to us.”

Another officer said on condition of anonymity: “On examining, we realised that they were props used in film shootings.”
The police are, however, not ruling out the possibility that the guns may have been intended for a robbery attempt.
