The Trombay police said the employee was trying to save the bird whose legs had got entangled in hair.

The deceased, Sadanand Shelar (35), worked as a tradesman with the CDMA-D wing of BARC and used to stay at Netravati building in the BARC colony.

The incident took place when Shelar went to the terrace for a walk.

Eyewitnesses rushed Shelar to the BARC hospital where he was declared dead before admission. The police said Shelar had suffered severe head injuries and multiple fractures.

“We have registered a case of accidental death,” said S B Jagtap, senior police inspector of Trombay police station.
