‘Bikers in danger’

Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, in Grant Road (East), has a half kilometre stretch that is in very poor shape, especially outside Akbar Peerbhoy College. Among the busiest in South Mumbai, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road connects Grant Road to J J Hospital and Sandhurst Road.
There are many schools and colleges located on this road, which also connects Central Mumbai with Girgaum and Charni Road.
Asfar Khan (22), a biker who regularly uses the road, said, “Many bike riders fall because of the potholes.” Added Shahid Sheikh, a motorist, “Our vehicles also get damaged; wheel alignment and suspension problems are common.”
