Bombay HC uphelds ban on Islam book

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday upheld the ban on the book 'Islam-A Concept of Political World invasion by Muslims'.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday upheld the ban on the book 'Islam-A Concept of Political World invasion by Muslims'.

The Maharashtra government banned the book in 2007 on the grounds that it contained derogatory remarks about Islam and could hurt religious sentiments.

Advocate R V Bhasin, the writer of the book, had challenged the ban of the book.

Advocate Amin Solkar, who appeared for interveners, said that the ban imposed because it contained derogatory remarks.
