Staff nurses at the Bombay Hospital, today went on a sudden strike demanding a salary hike and fresh recruitment of nursing staff.

Staff nurses at the Bombay Hospital, on Thursday went on a sudden strike demanding a salary hike and fresh recruitment of nursing staff.

"Around 300-400 staff nurses have participated in the strike. We want a salary hike and also recruitment of new nurses in the hospital. The ratio of nurses to patients at the hospital is 1:4," a staff nurse said.

Indian Nurses Association and Bombay Hospital Union are supporting the strike.
