Though legal provisions in Maharashtra require the applicant seeking anticipatory bail to remain present before the concerned court, the absconding police inspector is not likely to show up on Friday.

Public prosecutor Mohan Sawant said they would insist on Borude's presence.

Apart from charges of raping a 15-year-old girl, a separate case has also been filed against Borude for trespassing and house breaking, as the house where the alleged crime took place had been sealed by a local court in connection with another litigation.
