Boy falls off terrace while flying kite

An eight-year-old boy died after falling off a terrace of a four-storey building in Vile parle (East) after losing his balance while flying kites on Thursday.

Swapnil Chorghe lived in Shraddhanand slum and went to the terrace of Ajay Sahniwas building on Nariman Road.

A student of class 3 of Parle Tilak School, Swapnil was flying kites with his older brother, Bhavesh.

The duo was busy flying kites when Swapnil came too close to the compound wall. He lost his balance and fell on the ground head first. He sustained severe head injuries.

“Swapnil fell next to the gardener of the building who rushed him to VN Desai Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” said RN Aambre, senior police inspector.

Swapnil’s father works in a private company while his mother works as a domestic help.
