Thakare’s peon Rajesh Ghadi found files and papers scattered when he opened the office, located at Police Court on MRA Marg, on Thursday morning. Ghadi had locked the office on Wednesday night. The police has registered a complaint but are yet to determine if there was a robbery.

“Some one entered the office by breaking the latch,” said an officer at the MRA Marg police station. “We suspect the robbers had broken in to take away some important papers as the room has only documents and files of the cases that Thakare has been handling.”

Thakare refused to comment on the matter.
