Charges filed in fake encounter case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged fake encounter of Ramnarayan Gupta alias Lakhan Bhaiyya, on Monday submitted draft charges against encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma and 21 other accused in the case. HT reports.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged fake encounter of Ramnarayan Gupta alias Lakhan Bhaiyya, on Monday submitted draft charges against encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma and 21 other accused in the case.
The SIT has proposed a total of 21 charges including murder, criminal conspiracy and abduction against the 22 accused.
Principal judge ML Tahaliyani accepted a copy of the draft charges submitted by the prosecution. Charges are likely to be framed on March 7.
On November 11, 2006, gangster Ramnarayan Gupta was killed in a joint operation by officers from DN Nagar and Versova police stations.
