The Crime Branch has arrested a notorious criminal, who had gone underground after jumping parole granted to him to perform last rites of his mother, after he planned to kill a businessman in a contract killing assignment.

The Crime Branch has arrested a notorious criminal, who had gone underground after jumping parole granted to him to perform last rites of his mother, after he planned to kill a businessman in a contract killing assignment.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy said that Rajkumar Giridhar Uke had jumped parole while serving life-term in a murder case.

On June 4, Unit X of crime branch was tipped off about Uke's likely visit to Powai. Accordingly, a trap was laid and Uke was arrested.

The police recovered of a country-made Katta and two rounds from him.
