Vidyut Lokur, a resident of Bandra who works in Powai, said the control room refused to do anything, saying that it was the concern of the traffic police and should be reported to them. About 40 minutes later, when he approached the Bandra police, they allegedly told him to send an email as he was late in reporting the incident.

“I asked them for the email address, then the Mumbai police’s web address, but they did not know it. By then, I was disillusioned and had lost faith in the police,” said Lokur, who revealed that he had seen the assault take place on April 29.
