The incident blocked both up and down fast lines of the central line resulting in disruption of local train and long distance train services. CR officials said the incident took place around 11:25 am and services were restored by 12.20pm. “Two rail engines were coming from Dadar to be parked at the Vidyavihar loco shed. The incident occurred as these engines were crossing the railway tracks from the down fast line to the line going towards the loco shed.”

It resulted in a bunching of trains on both the fast up and down lines. Commuters who were stuck in trains were forced to get off and walk up to Vidyavihar station.

As it was Bakri Id, most commuters who were out visiting relatives suffered. CR claimed that the services were restored by 12.20 pm.
