Model and Big Boss 5 contestant Pooja Misrra has filed a criminal defamation case against actor Sunny Leone and also sought a sum of Rs100 crore as compensation, alleging Leone has repeatedly “defamed” her. Misrra and Leone were co-contestants in the reality show in 2012.

In her plea that came up for hearing on Monday, Misrra alleged Leone has given statements against her in newspapers and on television out of “malice and jealousy”. Misrra, in her plea, claimed Leone had” attributed motives against” her in an impugned article in a newspaper that had damaged her “reputation in the public eye” because of which she lost out on several work assignments. She claimed “she was forced to break her fixed deposits and withdraw her savings, and suffer losses to the tune of Rs70 lakh” because of losing out on work.

A bench led by Justice Naresh Patil has tagged the plea, along with two other pleas filed in HC by Misrra. The HC is likely to take up all the three petitions for hearing in June this year.
