Deranged man assaults Mithibai College student

A college-going girl, who had just stepped out of college premises, was assaulted by a deranged man on Sunday evening. HT reports.

A college-going girl, who had just stepped out of college premises, was assaulted by a deranged man on Sunday evening.

Priyanka Gupte, a first year student at the suburban Mithibai College, was stepping out of college late in the evening when she was assulated by a deranged man with a stick.

“The man is deranged and he has beaten up people earlier too. He has fled from the spot and we are undertaking combing operations to catch hold of him,” Juhu Police Station’s senior PI Deepak Katkade said.

The Police have said that injuries to girl who was taken to a local hospital were superficial.

There have been rising cases of assaults on females in the city. A fortnight back a girl was stabbed to death in Bangur Nagar by her friend.
