Pal’s family said he had not reported to his office in Zaveri Bazaar for the past month, owing to health issues. Not finding Pal at home, his wife called his mobile phone at 2.15pm. Pal apparently told her that he was heading to work. The building’s watchman informed the family about the incident, who then alerted the police. Pal was taken to Bhag-wati Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

“Pal’s family told us that he had been depressed over some financial issues. We have registered a case of accidental death,” said said Jaiwant Hargude, divisional assistant commissioner of police. The post-mortem report is awaited.
